DeBordieu Colony has been nationally recognized as a Firewise USA community since 2013. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) established the Firewise Program to encourage local solutions for wildfire safety by involving homeowners, community leaders, planners, developers, firefighters, and others in the effort to protect people and property from wildfire risks. The Firewise Program is co-sponsored by the USDA Forest Service, the US Department of the Interior, and the National Association of State Foresters.
Our community must be approved annually in order to maintain our Firewise status. We are pleased to report that DeBordieu Colony has successfully completed the Firewise USA Program’s annual requirements for 2020 and is a participating site in good standing throughout the 2021 calendar year.
